Wrexham-based charity Pedal Power is celebrating an extraordinary fundraising effort as one of their own, Rob Pullen, prepares to conquer Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, in a bid to raise vital funds for inclusive cycling.
Rob, who works as Cycling 4 All Officer at Pedal Power, at Alyn Waters Country Park, is taking on the gruelling challenge not just for the thrill of adventure, but to help empower individuals of all abilities through the freedom and joy of cycling.
“Resources to provide assisted cycling are hugely expensive, and many of our side-by-side and adapted bikes are in urgent need of replacement,” explained Rob. “Seeing the smiles and sense of achievement on our customers’ faces makes it all worthwhile. Every contribution truly counts.”
Pedal Power’s Cycling 4 All programme provides unique cycling opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, including those with additional needs. The charity offers a fleet of specialist bikes, such as trikes, hand-cycles, wheelchair bikes, and side-by-side bikes, ensuring that cycling remains accessible, enjoyable, and inclusive for everyone.
Rob’s fundraising goal is £1,000, which will help replace and maintain this essential equipment so that Pedal Power can continue providing life-changing cycling experiences. Every donation goes directly to the charity, supporting its mission to make cycling safe, fun, and inclusive for all.
