Nigel Reader, a dedicated trustee and fundraising volunteer for Cycling for All, has achieved an incredible milestone, raising over £10,000 to support the charity’s vital work. Over the last four years Nigel has been combining his passion for music and community engagement to generate funds for Cycling 4 All by performing at care homes and community events.
Nigel, who began his singing career in 2010 following his retirement from full-time employment, now performs at least twice a week. He has built a loyal client base of over 20 organisations who receive a very affordable service for their clients. Nigel also makes a pro bono monthly appearance at Lunch & Co at Alyn Waters Country Park, the over 55s lunch club managed by Groundwork North Wales. Reflecting on his work, Nigel shared:
“It’s a win-win-win as I enjoy performing and engaging with people, the audiences like what I do and the money I receive in return goes in full as donations to the charity of my choice—Cycling 4 All.”
Nigel joined the Cycling 4 All board of trustees in 2019, providing him with firsthand insight into the impact of the charity’s work. Cycling 4 All offers the all-ability cycling service Pedal Power serving the North East Wales,Cheshire and Merseyside areas. The Pedal Power service enables children and adults with disabilities to experience the fun and therapeutic benefits of cycling. Operating at Alyn Waters Country Park, the service supports vulnerable individuals and those with health challenges to improve their well-being through specialist cycling opportunities.
Helen Wright Chair of Trustees for Cycling 4 All said of Nigel’s efforts

“We would like to express our thanks to Nigel for his unwavering dedication and remarkable achievement. Nigel’s contributions have and will continue to make a significant difference to us. As a charity we receive no direct funding from government and are reliant upon fundraising efforts from volunteers such as Nigel, users of our services and our annual prize draw and Christmas event.
2025 sees us celebrate our 10th anniversary as an independent charity and in this anniversary year we will be launching a considerable fundraising effort to raise over £21,000 to aid us in updating our bike fleet to assist our users with their needs.
If you would like to support us in our fundraising efforts to update the fleet, please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
