Volunteer for our new Supported Rides offer!
Starting April 2025, we are excited to launch our Supported Rides offer at Pedal Power! This initiative will extend our cycling services to clients who live independently or don’t have full-time support but would love to experience the joy of cycling.
Who will benefit?
Our Supported Rides will welcome clients with:
- Visual impairments
- Hearing impairments
- Physical disabilities
- Learning disabilities
- Or any combination of these needs
These sessions aim to make cycling accessible to people who can travel to Pedal Power but may not be able to ride independently or have someone who can assist them with the ride.
How it works
Initially, we will offer these sessions one day per week with four 1-hour slots:
- 2 sessions in the morning
- 2 sessions in the afternoon
Each session includes a safety briefing, helmet check, bike setup, and riding time on our scenic 1-mile off-road route around Alyn Waters, Country Park.
Volunteer opportunities
We need compassionate volunteers to help make these sessions successful! Your commitment can be flexible:
- A full day
- Half a day
- Even just a portion of a day
All volunteers will receive comprehensive training, and we’ll arrange an enhanced DBS check on your behalf.
Join our volunteer team and help share the joy of cycling!
