Pedal Power (Cycling 4 All) the all-ability cycling service in Wrexham will be reopening following the festive break on Wednesday 12th January 2022. Covid measures are still in place. In the winter, the service is open 2 days each week every Wednesday and Friday from 9.30 – 4.00pm. Pedal Power supports adults and children with disabilities to enjoy the fun and therapy of cycling and hires out standard bikes and trikes. The service is based at Alyn Waters Country Park, Wrexham.

Pedal Power has been very touched in 2021 by the amazing efforts made by individuals to raise money for the service to ensure its survival.

Nigel Reader, one of the Trustees for Pedal Power is an excellent singer who regularly raises funds for Pedal Power through his  CD sales and Livestream performances on Facebook with donations going to Pedal Power.

Most recently we had a truly kind donation by Sheila and Mike Meadows from Wrexham whose son Gareth has been coming to Pedal Power for many years. For Gareth, Pedal Power is physiotherapy, exercise and fun rolled into one. Cycling has kept Gareth mobile and kept his muscles from wasting. He will always need a specialist bike and an opportunity to ride in a safe, traffic-free area.

Sheila, Gareth’s mum said, “I will be forever grateful for Pedal Power, it helped Gareth get his mobility back after lockdown. It was also the one service which came back on track after lock down and this helped to create feelings of hope and well-being for those who have struggled to understand what was happening to their world during the pandemic.” Pedal Power (Cycling 4 All)  believes everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of cycling, regardless of age or ability, and local support will help ensure that cycling includes everyone. The service is asking people to support Pedal Power this New Year.
