Pedal Power is excited to announce a new series of cycling and wellbeing sessions for community groups, made possible by the generous support of Community Foundation Wales.
These cycling and wellbeing sessions are designed to introduce individuals to the incredible benefits of exercise through cycling, combined with a healthy eating demonstration to equip people with the knowledge and skills to prepare healthy nutritious meals and advice and guidance on individual wellbeing.
These sessions are free and open to community groups who cater for individuals who are more likely to experience barriers to accessing wellbeing activities including those living with mental health issues, disabilities, and/or health conditions. The sessions are an opportunity to have fun, meet others and gain skills though exercise, activities and a shared meal.
Starting with a cycling session utilising the network of cycle tracks at Alyn Waters participants can enjoy cycling in a natural environment, free of traffic. Afterwards the group will gather for a live, interactive cooking demonstration, with opportunities to ask questions and enjoy a healthy lunch. The day will complete with group activities focused on individual wellbeing including simple stress-relief techniques and easy to us strategies for a positive outlook.
These sessions will allow attendees to benefit from the physical and mental wellbeing benefits of cycling including improve strength, cardiovascular fitness and mobility, while reducing symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. The sessions will also encourage a relaxed, social atmosphere where those who attend can connect with others through activities and discussions.
Sessions will take place at Pedal Power, Alyn Waters Country Park, LL11 4AG and are planned for
- 6 Mar, 11 am – 2 pm
- 8 May, 11 am – 2 pm
- 10 July, 11 am – 2 pm
