Pedal Power, the all ability cycling service based at Alyn Waters Country Park is offering a Bike Swap service.

Many families struggle to afford the next sized bikes for their children when the need to upgrade.  With the Bike Swap service, local families can donate unwanted or outgrown bikes and exchange them for the larger model (if available).

The aim is to help families struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and to stop unwanted bikes being sent to landfill.

The service is also hoping to be able to give free recycled children’s bikes to families who cannot afford a bike at all.

Bike Swap is available at Pedal Power on a Wednesday and Friday at Alyn Waters Country Park, Mold Road, Wrexham, you can call 07908325508 or 01978 757524 for more details.

Pedal Power also has a range of reconditioned affordable bikes available for purchase just in time for Christmas. All bikes have undergone a pre delivery inspection by a qualified cytech mechanic.

This winter, Pedal Power has started a new Learn to Ride service which has proved very popular and has become fully booked up. Here children can bring their own bikes or access a low-cost donated bike and be supported to learn to cycle by experienced project officers in a safe setting.

In the new year, Learn to Ride will be running more sessions. Pedal Power are asking people to look out for new dates for Learn to Ride and more information about Bike Swap by visiting the Pedal Power website  www.cycling4all.org and their social media to find out more.
