Thanks to funding from Comic Relief, Pedal Power can offer its popular Bike Swap service again this Summer on Saturday mornings. It is a great opportunity for children to have the right size bike in time for the summer holidays.
Buying the next size bike up for a child can be very expensive, so Bike Swap offers local families a free alternative. Families can donate an unwanted or outgrown bikes to the Pedal Power Bike Swap service and exchange it for a larger model (if available). All the bikes that are available for swapping have undergone a pre delivery inspection by a qualified Cytec mechanic.
The aim is to help families struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and to stop unwanted bikes being sent to landfill unnecessarily.
Local families are invited to come down to Pedal Power at Alyn Water Country Park, Mold Road, Wrexham, LL11 4AG on a Saturday mornings between 10 am and 12 pm and see the range of bikes that are available, and to swap their bike for the next size up.
Also, on offer at Pedal Power on Saturday mornings are free learn to ride sessions.
Anyone wanting to swap their bike should email the details of the bike and which Saturday they will be popping along to info@groundworknorthwales.org.uk . Anyone interested in Learn to Ride should also use this email address for more information.
